Tokyo Jihen is coming out with a new album and a new single is due out in July. Here is an excerpt translated by Jonny from the Shiina Ringo fansite. Argh..too bad i can’t see her live performances.
“We’re starting off towards the third album from Tokyo Jihen! What’s gonna be different this time?
Careful selection of the band members’ demo material, with Shiina Ringo concentrating on writing the lyrics.
There will be a lot of pop displaying the individual members’ rich song sense. A truly progressed Tokyo Jihen will be visible.
The first single “OSCA“, will be released July 11. It’s guitar and lyrics is written by Ukigumo. It’s a fast and wild rock song.
Ringo’s singing will also be accelerating the songs. In all there will be three songs.
Also, this fall, the third album will be released, and a Japan-wide tour is currently being planned.
Expect a Tokyo Jihen that will keep on evolving.”

Since we are in a Tokyo Jihen, or rather i am. I’ve decided to upload a song from them that is featured in the movie starring Anna Tsuchiya, Sakuran. Shiina Ringo was also the music director for that show, which she sang in collaboration with Saito Neko, Kono yo no kagiri, Oiran, and Sakuran.
‘Yume no Ato‘ (夢のあと), is a slow rock ballad which is one of Tokyo Jihen’s popular songs and featured in their album Kyoiku. I think Shiina Ringo is one of the most versatile japanese singers i know of and i hope you will enjoy her songs as much as i have.
I eagerly prefer Ringo in solo. Muzai Moratorium and Shôso Trip are two pieces of awesome music, while I consider Tokyo Jihen didn’t accomplish any geat song.
haha….well, you might want to give their music another go
good i like it…
great . . .
