I heard this song some time ago when I bought this random CD at the music store. I like soothing relaxing sounds for a change sometime and rather than an old man singing (with reference to Ibrahim Ferrer) from The Buena Vista Social Club, I figured i’d go for some japanese lounge music instead. Besides, they get somewhat depressing at times, not so relaxing then.

The CD was Tokyo Cafe with some really nice tracks in there. The one that really stood out for me was Yuri Chika. I think she is more popularly known for her song I Cry. Poor girl, doesn’t even have a wiki on her.
Sunahama Letter, is a lounge type of song, with a very nice chillout entrance and nice bass too. Her voice lends a effortless soothing touch to this wonderful chillout song. It is not a chart topping song, something probably not Music Station worthy (to the mass at least) and probably not something you can’t get enough of. However, everytime any of my friends ask me to burn them a japanese CD or a lounge compilation, i would include this song for some reason. I never get tired of the song and always bring a cheer to my face whenever the ‘random’ function hits this song…
“ah..sunahama letter” i’d say.
